and just like that, in a matter of a few days, we had the shell of the barn of our dreams.
I was so excited about this phase being done that I talked Bob into eating dinner under the new roof. a little picnic dinner to celebrate the progress of building our dreams into reality.
it was a drizzly, summer evening with just enough rain to keep the bugs at bay but not too much to keep us cooped up inside...beautifully relaxing. as we ate under the trusses, we chatted about the sunsets we will get to watch from our patio. we laughed as we watched Forrest 'springing' across the property and knew he felt as home as we did.
I started daydreaming a bit about where our garden might go while Bob wondered if we could pick up anyone's router near by. the rain got him thinking a bit more about how we will need to account for water runoff around the barn. and he got 17 bonus points for asking me to do a rain garden to help control the water situation...don't have to ask me twice to plant flowers.
we were so content and pleased with our barn finally under roof and anticipating all the project space we are about to have. but the fun didn't stop there because the next phase was just beginning...adding the lean-to the length of the barn.
